Go! Augusta Community Businessman in the Spotlight
Businessman Eric Brown in the Spotlight
Rooted in Augusta
Eric Brown has been part of the Augusta community since 1999, putting down roots here after growing up in nearby Potwin. Over the years, as he and his wife raised their three boys, their involvement in the community naturally deepened. Today, Eric’s connection to Augusta is grounded in family, shared experiences, and a genuine appreciation for the people and places that make this town special. He recognizes the importance of strong schools and thoughtful housing growth in building a thriving community and enjoys cheering on local and regional favorites like KU, the Chiefs, and the Royals.
Family Memories to Community Impact
For Eric, many of Augusta’s most meaningful moments are found in simple traditions. A drive through Garvin Park brings back memories of youth baseball games and helping with the beloved Christmas light displays—a tradition his family holds close. He also values events like the annual car show, not just for the vehicles, but for what it represents: a sense of reunion as summer winds down and families reconnect. In his downtime, Eric enjoys the quiet rhythm of sorting his sports card collection and still dreams of one day visiting Ireland to experience its beauty and history firsthand. He tends to find his stride in the morning and lives by a simple philosophy—be kind, work hard, and have fun.
“We are motivated every time we help a member save money, make money or when we can provide peace of mind.”
Commitment to Community
Professionally, Eric serves as Bank President, finding purpose in his role at White Eagle Credit Union, an organization built on the principle of people helping people. Inspired by its humble beginnings—when a few dollars were kept in a cigar box to support neighbors in need—he remains committed to strengthening the financial well-being of those they serve. That same cigar box now sits on Eric’s desk, a daily reminder to stay true to those roots. Eric is also part of the Go! Augusta Board and continues to invest in Augusta not just as a place to live, but as a community to support and grow.
