April Volunteer of the Month - Theresa Lowe
Community Active
Theresa Lowe has become a dedicated and active volunteer in Augusta, Kansas, giving generously of her time to support to local events, organizations, and community initiatives. Involved in Augusta’s arts and cultural scene, she contributes her talents through her work with the Augusta Arts Council, where she serves on committees and helps support the development of theatre programming and community entertainment. Her volunteer journey began soon after moving to Augusta, and since then she has continued to share her energy, leadership, and community spirit across various boards and activities, making her a valued contributor to the growth and vibrancy of Augusta.
Community Enjoyment
After moving to Augusta three years ago to be closer to her grandchildren, Theresa Lowe quickly became involved in the community and found joy in its local traditions. Family plays a central role in Theresa’s life, and she proudly cheers for any team her grandsons are part of. Ireland stands out as her dream destination—a place she finds beautiful, peaceful, and rejuvenating. She especially loves attending baseball games at Garvin Park and looks forward to community favorites like Homecoming, with its lively parade, tailgate, and game-day excitement. Mid-day is when she feels most productive, and Theresa finds comfort and fun in familiar favorites like The Devil Wears Prada.
Community Growing
Theresa's introduction to community involvement began during her first year in Augusta, when a visit to the Brick Street Bazaar led her to discover volunteer opportunities through the local theatre. Theresa’s work with the Augusta Arts Council over the past two years has been a meaningful growth experience. Now confident in her role, she is eager to help expand and develop new entertainment experiences at the theatre. This continued connection to the arts and the community fuels her passion and commitment to Augusta’s cultural life.
