Makerhaus Collective is a mobile art & STEAM enrichment studio serving ages 2 through 102, plus outreach at area rest homes. At our booth we'll offer a fast, hands-on mini maker activity for market-goers, plus information and sign-ups for our full range of Guild sessions: kids, teens, adults, and seniors.
What areas do you serve?
Makerhaus Collective (MC) serves a 40-mile radius around Elbing, Kansas, including Marion, McPherson, Chase, Greenwood, Butler, Harvey, and Sedgwick counties.
Where do the majority of your customers come from?
Butler and Harvey counties, where MC runs recurring Guild sessions through the local Rec Centers.
Where do you service (if applicable)?
As a fully mobile studio, MC brings the experience to you. The Wonderhaus Dome and Elzbeth (MC's Jeep) set up at schools, rec centers, care facilities, markets, and community events anywhere within the service area, plus birthday parties, pop-ups, workshops, day camps, and other one-off gatherings.
Makerhaus Collective began with my grandkids, not a business plan. I watched them re-engineer a toaster, turn a hallway into a mural, and adopt a colony of sticks and bugs, all in the time it took their mom to make one cup of coffee. That kind of curiosity wasn't a problem to solve. It was raw material.
I'd already spent years teaching hands-on creativity in every form: ceramics and crafts through local rec commissions, color theory to remote students, sketching and sewing as a 4-H arts instructor, and elaborate themed family gatherings for my own five kids and thirteen grandkids. So I built a home for all of it: a mobile "wonder-hub" dome that rolls into Kansas towns, where kids earn collectible badges for real engineering, design, and creative work, and parents get their coffee back.
Today, that same energy runs the Makerhaus Guild, a full badge-earning curriculum with an illustrated cast of mascot characters, delivered from the Wonderhaus Dome, a 4-season canvas glamping tent that sets up on grass at parks, schools, and community spaces. It's complete for cold weather with a woodburning stove, and can go fully off-grid with a compost toilet tent when needed. I now partner with Andover Parks and Rec and Newton Rec Center, and I'm continuing to grow into new communities across the region. Can't wait to create with you, too!
