Grill Shak

History

The story behind Grill Shak really began more than 35 years ago with Big Dad and his love of grilling and bringing people together around good food. What started with his own special blend of seasonings became something family and friends knew simply as Big Dad's Seasoning.

A few years ago, Big Dad asked us — his family — to take what he had started and carry it forward. We took that responsibility to heart, building Grill Shak around Big Dad's Seasonings and adding grilling tools and accessories for people who shared our love of grilling outdoors.

When Big Dad passed away in 2024, continuing what he started took on an even greater meaning for our family. Big Dad's Seasonings aren't simply products we sell. They're part of our family's history, and every bottle represents a tradition that has been passed from one generation to the next.

Over time, Grill Shak has continued to evolve. We realized that one of the best ways to share Big Dad's legacy was to do what started all of this in the first place — cook for people.

That led to the Grill Shak Flavor Roadshow. Today, we're serving smoked BBQ and other Grill Shak favorites at farmers markets, festivals and events while continuing to offer Big Dad's Seasonings and our line of grilling products. What began more than 35 years ago as one man's seasoning has grown into a family-run BBQ and grilling business built around food, family and sharing great flavor with others.

We're proud of where Grill Shak is today, but we're even more proud of where it started. Every time we fire up the smoker, serve a customer or send someone home with a bottle of Big Dad's Seasoning, we're carrying on something Big Dad would be proud of.
